Overview:

Why are there so many Christian denominations? Why is the church so often torn by conflict? Why do so many believers show little growth—even after years? It’s not only human weakness, cultural difference, or spiritual warfare. At a deeper level, one root keeps surfacing: The collapse of biblical tensions.

Scripture repeatedly holds together realities that must remain together. But when we flatten “both/and” into “either/or,” the church fractures:

• Truth collapses into accusation and pride → denominational rivalry.
• Love collapses into compromise and people-pleasing → loss of discipline.
• Spirit-empowered life collapses into chaos or cold formalism → worship wars.
• Personal piety collapses into individualism, or corporate order collapses into institutionalism → internal exhaustion.
• Grace collapses into “no need to change,” or obedience collapses into “earning salvation” → spiritual stagnation.
