Biblical Tension Theology begins not by constructing a theological system, but by receiving biblical revelation as God has given it.

• according to the Theocentric Order,
• toward faithful response.

The Methodological Prolegomena of Biblical Tension Theology

I. The Theological Foundation

Reality Is Given by God

All creation, revelation, redemption, and consummation proceed from the one undivided Triune God.

“For from him and through him and to him are all things.”

— Romans 11:36

Because God is the Creator and source of all reality, theology does not define reality; it seeks to understand reality as God has made and revealed it.

Thus:

→ One Theocentric Order

The Creator–Creature distinction remains fundamental: God is uncreated and sovereign; creatures are created, dependent, and responsible.

II. The Canonical Foundation

Receive the Whole Counsel of God

Because Scripture is divine revelation, theology must receive the whole canonical witness rather than privilege selected truths.
